Savannah Bananas Honoring Scheer Family at Nationals Park

We are beyond excited for Banana Ball on June 28th as the Scheer family is being honored at Nationals Park!
Bananas Foster, the official nonprofit of Banana Ball, is using this platform to share a powerful message: Every child deserves dignity, hope, and love.
As one of Bananas Foster’s official Banana Foster Families (BFFs), the Scheers will be recognized during the game between The Savannah Bananas and The Firefighters.
Rob and Reece Scheer are the founders of Comfort Cases, a non-profit organization based in Gaithersburg, that promotes hope and dignity to youth in foster care. Rob was in foster care himself until he “aged out” at 18, was handed a trash bag to carry his few belongings and became homeless. He didn’t give up – he graduated high school, joined the Navy and then became a success in business.
After adopting the first 4 of his 5 children, all who came from the same broken foster care system – and all carrying their belongings in Trash Bags, Rob and Reece founded Comfort Cases. Since 2013, the organization has distributed more than 265,000 Comfort Cases backpacks to children entering the foster care system in every state in the US, Washington DC, Puerto Rico and the United Kingdom.
Rob wrote about his foster care experience in his memoir, A Forever Family: Fostering One Change at a Time. The team at Bananas Foster loved the book so much, they chose to share it as part of the Bananas Foster Book Club! All proceeds from the purchase of A Forever Family go directly to Comfort Cases.
Join us in celebrating this unforgettable moment, tune in live on June 28th!
